I finished the art installation today of the largest photo canvases I have hung. Two 40"x 60" Gallery wrapped canvases with gallery locks. I actually made these canvases into soundproofing panels because the company needed to cut down on the sound between offices. The soundproofing foam is pretty heavy. It took a while to hang these but I am so thrilled with the outcome.

My Handmade Watch Band

I finished making this watchband last night. I made it out of waxed cotton thread and 14K Gold Plated Beads. It closes with a magnetic clasp. It fits perfectly and is comfortable. I don't use a pattern. I just make it up as I go which sometimes causes a problem when I have to repeat the same steps on the opposite side as in this watchband...:). I was so happy to finish it and absolutely love the results. Maybe a matching bracelet would be nice. Well, before that I need to make me a black one. I like to do things like this at night when we are watching TV. It's fun and relaxing!

Clemson University (CVA-G) Collaborates with Artists and Local Business and Invites Public to Create Exhibit

"West Greenville in Print" Exhibit

"Love Tree" by Debbie Cole Pace
Printmaking  5.5" x 7.5"
Pronto Plate Lithography

Medusa Tree - Greenville South Carolina. Within the beautiful Falls Park in downtown Greenville.

Clemson University sponsored a printmaking workshop at it's satellite location in downtown Greenville, SC. All participants were asked to bring a photograph (contemporary or historical) of a place, memory, portrait, landscape, architectural structure, etc. that defines West Greenville in their opinion.  The CVA-G partnered to create a series of printmaking workshops with Jeremy Cody of The Printshop, a printmaking studio located at 3 McBeth Street. The photographs are half-toned, which enables participants to draw back into the photographs and use a combo press to make prints from the new image.

Detail of the print above.
The entire print is made up of dots etched into a polyester plate and then filled with ink and put through the press.

Printmaking process in action!

My First Photo Shoot with my Grandson, Russell.

Photographing a newborn baby was a little harder than I thought it would be. It was such a fun experience and a huge learning experience. It took two other people helping to get these photos. Thank you Laura and Carissa, you are wonderful daughters! I have really enjoyed editing these photos and getting them ready for print. I've gotten to see little Russell "up close" for a few days now. Makes me miss him. I think it's time for another real visit...and with my camera! :)

I love you Russell!

Starting another Watercolor Painting of a single Daffodil

I am starting a new watercolor painting based on a photograph I took of a single Daffodil. There are a few minor changes from the original photograph. I will be working on both Daffodil Paintings at the same time since the colors I am using are the same. This photo shows the original sketch with liquid frisket and frisket film on the flowers to protect them while I prepare to paint the background.
