This is a new pencil painting I have started based on a photograph I took of an old building down the street from my house. For a while the owners had this flag on the building. I loved it! I'm glad I took the time to take the photo because now the building has been renovated and turned into a small antique shop. I do miss the look of the old building when I drive by it. This photo shows the original sketch with liquid frisket on the area that I want to preserve the white of the paper while I paint the watercolor undercoat.
